Horse Hearts - Teaching Horsemanship

Welcome to Horse Hearts, my name is Lee Ann Burns, I have spent my life horseback, earning my living with Show Horses, Race Horses, and Cow Horses, I have 50 years experience with horses, and teaching people how to be around them.  I got my first pony, Silver Lady, when I was 9, she was 2, green broke, we started bareback, in February, in Manitoba, she bucked me off about 3 times a day for the first 2 months, but by July we won a best rider trophy :)

• The pictures above in the header are of Red Rainer, we got our Rookie Buckle in Cutting at Garden City, Kansas in that picture, the other is Edith D Bar, her daughter, I helped her be born and am the only one who has been on her, I started her bareback with the halter and shank, out behind the barn.

I have given lessons all my life, where ever I was working, to whoever was around that asked me to help them, sometimes for a living, sometimes just helping a friend, I have sure been helped by good and bad alike in my travels, the good ones have taught me the right way, the bad ones taught me what not to do:)

Successful horsemanship depends on communication, if they understand you, they will do it.  We have to learn how to communicate in "horse", then you will have a partner, an ally, a friend.  Horses that are beaten into submission for now, will save themselves at their first opportunity, wouldn't you?  We will build a base, you, my 5 good, bombproof cowponies, and me, for your continued lifelong alliance with these magnificent beings...We look forward to hearing from you...Happy Trails:)   leeannb1@hotmail.com   403 634 8245
